After Hurricane Sandy..

School is back in session!

This morning, teachers and students alike were more than ready for fun after the unanticipated hurricane vacation. We explored RED materials, working with yarn, red sea glass, and soft red pom poms.  Our friends flexed their imagination muscles, winding the red yarn into a snake, covering our light box with sea glass, and using red pom poms as dump truck debris.

A few weeks ago we in the park, we discovered a grassy knoll covered in fragrant pine cones.  We loaded our wagon full of them to save for another day. Well, today we pulled out our pine cone booty for exploration and used them as stamps with vibrant red paint, noting the many shapes we could create!

Our class was antsy with post-hurricane cabin fever today but we remedied that with a walk to Windsor Terrace Library.  Our friends curiously perused the stacks, reading quietly, book after book.

November brings cooler air and even more adventure! See you next week!
